HEALTHY EATING – AVOID MISTAKES ON DIET RECIPIES

There is so much information we can find about weight loss, but the same diet mistakes are being made over and over every day. You need to avoid some big mistakes that lead to failure to lose the weight that you want to lose. Understanding these errors can help to improve the attitude that will lead to permanent weight loss for you.

1. The All Or Nothing Attitude

This kind of dieters will often choose a complicated diet that is almost impossible for them to maintain. Before starting, they will search the kitchen for anything that does not fit the plan and throw it in the garbage. They are planning to be the perfect dieter, and so they will be, for three days, seven days or even a couple of weeks. Then, inevitably, something happens that means they cannot continue the diet one time. Immediately the whole thing is ruined in their eyes and the diet is over. They get to the store and buy all the things that they thrown last week and proceed to gain back all the weight that they lost, as fast as possible.

If you are this kind of dieter you need to ask yourself some big questions. Do you really want to lose weight permanently, or just lose a few pounds so that you can enjoy putting them back on again?

The best way is to make small changes to what you eat so that you have a slow but steady weight loss.

2. The Attitude of Sacrifice

The second mistake is you view your diet as a period of sacrifice. You restrict yourself the foods that you enjoy most while you are on a way of getting your target weight. You may have a good diet plan and be very successful in losing weight, but what happens when you reach your goal? You have not learnt to eat 'bad foods' in moderation so as soon as you start, you are likely to go out of control.

It is better to include a little of everything in your diet and learn to enjoy it in small quantities. Yes, even chocolate!

3. Goal Failure

Setting goals is important in any weight loss plan and it should be clear and realistic. A more useful goal would be to lose two pounds per week for the first five weeks and then one pound per week after that. Some weeks you will lose more and some less, some weeks you may even gain, but if you monitor your progress by a graph you will see that ups and downs are natural and do not stop you progressing steadily toward your main goal.

If you have been making above mistakes, do not worry. The most important point in dieting is to move on. Learn from your failures as well as your success and do not use a mistake as an excuse for giving up.

The only way to permanently achieve your goal is to make a commitment to become a healthier person. Remember that eating normally includes eating more on some days and less on the others. Learn to enjoy food in moderation and you will have a chance of avoiding these bad diet mistakes.

NEGATIVE CALORIE FOODS

Actually, there is no such thing as a negative calorie. A calorie is a unit of heat and it cannot be negative. So when people talk about negative calorie foods, this just means a food whose calorie level is too low that it takes more energy to eat and digest it than the food contains.

Let we consider water to be a food, then cold water is certainly a negative calorie food. It contains no calories at all and the body has to use more energy to bring it up to blood temperature. So every time we drink a glass of cold water, we burn up a few calories and lose a little weight. That is why people call it a negative calorie food. But there are very few foods like this.

Negative calorie foods are most attractive to anorexics. A negative calorie diet would obviously result in starvation in the long term and nutritional deficiencies can occur very quickly. The calories burnt usually come from muscle mass, and the result is debility and wasting.

A better way to use a negative calorie diet is as a form of fasting or detox. You can do it for one to three days right after the Christmas season or when you have been eating an over-rich diet. Provided you are otherwise healthy, it can be a great way to clean out the system. However it is still best to take medical advice before doing this.

If you decide to use a negative calorie detox, please consider the following points first:

1. Do not eat big quantities of one type of food, especially fruits. A lot of foods contain substances that can be damaging if taken too much. For example, the acid in pineapple and grapefruit can damage your stomach lining. Other foods put an excessive burden on the liver or may cause diarrhea. So try to use all the different foods in small quantities.

2. Better for you to eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. You will also use more calories that way. If the foods can be eaten raw, it will be more effective than cooking them. Foods like carrots and beets will also be more satisfying if you eat them grated.

3. Do not spend all day eating. You will just become bloated and feel sick. If you are only doing this for a couple days, you should not feel too hungry. Plan four or five salad meals each day, and let your digestion rest at other times.

4. Schedule your time when do not have any important commitments. As with fasting or any kind of detox, you may suffer some uncomfortable symptoms including headaches, depression, tiredness and irritability. If these become severe, stop the diet and see a doctor.

5. When you end the detox, plan a gradual return to normal eating.

Below is a list of negative calorie foods.

* Apples

* Asparagus

* Beets

* Blueberries

THE BENEFIT OF LOSING WEIGHT

Why most people are trying to lose weight?

There are many reasons why people may want to lose weight, and these reasons are justified. Losing weight has many advantages. Of course, there are always going to be bad stories about people who fall into the traps of eating disorders, but the most important, losing weight is very great to your advantage.

Of course the most obvious advantage to weight loss is the health benefits. When you are overweight, you are risking your body to get a number of disease and conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and intestinal diseases. But all these can be prevented and easily be treated if you lose weight.

Losing weight can teach you about healthy eating, which opens up a whole new world when it comes to food. Cooking with healthy and fresh ingredients can be really enjoyable to do with spouse or children so that the entire family is eating more healthy foods and focused on losing extra weight and maintain healthy life.

When you get your ideal weight, shopping for clothing is more fun and easier because you actually fit into clothing more readily. It can often be less expensive as well. Of course, for some people, this takes more than losing weight, but it’s a good start.

There are a number of other advantages to losing weight as well—you’ll have more energy, be better, able to play with your children, have a sense of achievement and much, much more. WEIGHT LOSS AND FAMILY

Most of us are trying to lose weight, but have you ever considered losing weight as a family? Typically, when one member of our family is not eating healthy foods, the rest of the family is also participating in unhealthy behaviors.

Start by planning healthy meals together...
Working as a family, you can split up the responsibilities. For example, have your spouse to go for grocery shopping, while you cook and your children do the dishes. Whenever you cook a healthy meal, make extras and take that along to work the next day instead of relying on fast food. Cooking together also helps you bond and can teach both you and your children valuable life skills.

Join a gym as well...
Sometimes there is a family discount if three or more members of a household join the same gym, and often the facilities found here are better than any exercising machines you may have at home. As a family, you can also play tennis or racquetball together or motivate one another to work out. Some gyms even have fun family resources, like family softball leagues and indoor swimming pools.
When you want to lose weight, working together as a family to set goals can also work really well.

Setting goals is important for any weight loss program, but as a family you can work together to push one another. Some husband and wife teams even like some friendly competition when losing weight. For example, challenge your spouse to prepare for a marathon, train together, and then compete during the actual race to see who finishes first or finishes the most of the race.

No matter how much weight you want to lose, it is always easier to do so when you have people to help you along the way. Your family is perfect for this because you live together and know one another in term of eating and work out habits. When you lose weight together, you have a great chance to bond as well, providing strong family ties and better relationships in general. Losing weight is never easy, but with a little help from your family members, all of your weight loss goals can definitely be achieved one by one.

IMPORTANT OF WEIGHT LOSS

If you feel happy with your current weight, you belong to the minority of people around the world, but should be applauded for your positive outlook on your life and your body. However, weight loss still may be needed. Many people who are overweight say that they are happy with their bodies, but the fact remains that weight loss is very important in order to achieve a healthy weight . There are many reasons you should consider weight loss, even if you don’t mind having a few extra pounds.

If you are overweight, you are at risk for a number of diseases.

The main health risk you will probably experience is heart disease, which can lead to a heart attack. Many heart attacks are deadly. Heart disease develops when your heart has to work extra hard to pump the blood to the body, which causes it to become fatigued. This can happen simply because you are overweight, or can be a result of high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

Having high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels can also put you at risk for a stroke. Strokes occur when blood, and therefore oxygen, cannot reach the brain. This can happen due to high cholesterol. When you have high cholesterol, the fatty deposits build up on your artery walls. If a piece of this plaque breaks off and travels to the heart, it causes a heart attack, and traveling to the brain causes a stroke.

Being overweight is also bad for
pregnant women. When you’re overweight, the hormones in your body are changing, and if you don’t get the right nutrients, your body does not produce the right chemicals for the hormones needed to ovulate or carry a child. These puts you at risk for a miscarriage or health problems with the baby.

Beyond the health world, being overweight can also affect your daily life. It may difficult for you to buy clothing in your size or you may find that larger sizes
clothing is more expensive. This is simply due to the manufacturer need more material to make the same article of clothing. More than that, problems extend when doing things like visiting theme parks. You may not be able to ride all of the rides, or using public transportation, where you may feel crowded in seats made for smaller people.

Even if you are currently happy with your own weight,
losing weight is always a healthy and smart option, until you reach your ideal weight.
